Thanksgiving in Morehead City

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving in Morehead City. Our family friends, the Campbells, drove up from Florida to share the holiday with us. We enjoyed seeing Mike & Shelley; the kids had a blast with Megan & Mitchell. We were very fortunate to have stayed in our pastor’s wife’s childhood home…a beautiful house on the intercoastal in the back and golf course in the front. We all took a moment to think about how many family gatherings must have taken place there….a beautiful thing!

We played Uno after the kids went to bed. The day after Thanksgiving, the guys took the kids to see the “Muppets” while Shel and I watched Breaking Dawn. Good times!

Abigail Adams Lesson

I was touched by this book I was reading to the girls about Abigail Adams. I appreciate and admire her family for encouraging her to be herself, even if it meant going against the grain. It’s a nice reminder that the world is made up of all kinds of people out there…everyone has different strengths and weakness. We don’t have to be sheep and act like everyone else.

Spunky aka Bluetooth

Marley’s favorite toys are her pink stuffed dogs “Spunky” and “Sparky”. I bought her this blue Spunky dog (that’s the style name) thinking that she’d like a boy one to play with also. Nah…I was wrong. She really didn’t want much to do with it…that was until she lost her pink dogs for two weeks as a punishment. Now “Bluetooth” is her friend. The girls left him on the counter this way before school…I smiled when I came home and saw him. I couldn’t resist taking a picture to share.

10k in Nov 2011

This photo is from the 10k I ran in November as part of my half marathon training (Disney race in Jan 2012). Good race, 10:20 minute miles…but I hurt my foot. Rested it for a week and it’s not 100 percent but getting better.

NYC Visit

I had a fun trip to NYC a few weeks ago for a photography assignment. These were random pictures of a church on my walk to get coffee taken with my iPhone.
